Conventional or Modern

It may seem that cooking rice is easy. Actually, there are a few things you need to know to avoid an uncalled-for steamed rice.

Quick Tips:
If you prefer to use the conventional way, remember to keep a low steady heat. This avoids overcooking.

When cooking the conventional way, do not put on lid until rice starts to condense. Again, this avoids overcooking and water does not come out. Usually the proportion is one is to two. (one part rice two parts water)

If you prefer to use the modern way; the rice cooker, remember to unplug it when it signals “warm”. This avoids turning it into a pop-rice.
